Other Info
Dunne & Crescenzi was born in 1999 from the original taste and enterprise of Eileen Dunne and her husband Stefano Crescenzi. After they moved to Dublin from Rome in 1995, they set up a small shop in Sutton, stocking finer Italian foods and wine began to develop contacts and products. After just few years, with two restaurants in Dublin City Centre and a new one opened in Sandymount Village, D&C is the result of an excellent combination of quality food , authentic Italian atmosphere and of course a good customers care. As Stefano says:” It distinguishes our business as an importer of good quality food and regional wines”.

D&C is not only a restaurant; it is basically what thay call an “Experience”. They are part of the slow food industry that is you can easily breathe the purely Italian atmosphere, way too far from the hectic style of a capital city. The staff is mainly Italian, kind and accommodating and always very helpful eager especially to recommend a dish or, even better, a glass of wine. Yes because D&C was initially born as a wine bar, with more then 130 labels of Italian wine representing each region of Italy; they are really sure they will meet your expectations.

Along with it they offer a good variety of seasonal dishes at very competitive and reasonable prices. This is what they call as Antipasti. They might be simply appetisers as well as main courses…it is obvious… a pasta dish will never miss and each day we propose the specials of the chef.

Don’t forget at D&C you can find a rich variety of Italian product in sale such as pasta, risotto rice, olive oils, coffee etc…

I had lunch here with a friend at a very busy lunch time on a Saturday. Apart from having to wait for a table (we had not pre-booked) the service was excellent and staff kept us informed of how long the wait would be. Only negative was that the tables were just a litttle too close together for ease of conversation. However, we did not feel rushed to leave. The food overall was really excellent and both of us enjoyed everything we were served.
